First, I had an out of town houseguest, who took me to a hockey game. We did other things that week of course, but also: HOCKEY GAME.
…and then I got stupendously sick. Like lay me out flat on my back for multiple days last week sick. An ear infection gone rogue, my doctor said. It affected my ears and by extension my throat, and rampaged right over me until I was lucky to be crawling out of bed for any reason at all on any given day last week. Let alone the two days I spent working from my dining room, wishing for death or at least a greater sense of practical self-preservation, for heaven’s sake.
Anyway, today I am upright, and breathing through both nostrils, and all of this is to say, I have something to show everyone that I actually meant to show last week, but, well, excuses. So I will show you now.
Friends, meet the cover of my book. I know, we all want to actually meet the extremely attractive cover model, but that’s not happening for any of us, so let’s just admire how well he photographs. Boy howdy.
From my publisher: Tea? Cookies? Swoooon.
Interlude Press is proud to announce publication of Definitely, Maybe, Yours. In Lissa Reed’s debut novel, baker Craig Oliver leads a life that is happily routine, and has a weakness for damaged people. Habitual playboy Alex Scheff is about to discover he has a weakness for Englishmen who carry cookies in their pockets. Can a seemingly incompatible pair find the recipe for love in a relationship they claim is casual?
Definitely, Maybe, Yours will be available in August by order from the IP Web Store, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and a book retailer near you.
So, that’s totally happening.
I have plans, of course. One of the two lead characters is a baker, and longtime Pre-Archive-Catastrophe blog readers will remember that I, too, have a bit of a fondness for baking. So I’m thinking in a couple of months we’ll maybe play with baking some of the treats that appear in the book. I’m looking forward to this, not least because some of them involve alcohol.
There will also be lots of fun things like giveaways and such, and I’ll give folks the heads up for any blog tour that gets set up. And I’ll talk about my fellows and their friends and just basically, folks, we’re going to have a grand old time celebrating something that’s been a long time coming. Sound all right to you?
Also, this weekend will bring quite a load of shit to this blog, as it’s time to get stuck into the compost and transplant my Early Girl tomato plants, so expect pictures of green things and sunshine and me with chicken poop or some other vile but necessary crap all over my gardening gloves, hoo-lally-day!
