shorter than anticipated

This morning, I woke up and threw a party!
HA. No. No, I did not. Actually, I got up this morning and had an MRI done on the Gimp Leg, which was so very much the opposite of a party it hurt.
Really! It hurt. In the end. It took about two and a half hours to complete, two and a half hours of me having to lay perfectly still under a large, heavy magnet. Thank goodness it was a lower body MRI, because I’m pretty sure I couldn’t get through a full body or head MRI without crying. Which would be a problem, I am sure.
But it did hurt, the last part especially. We did my hip last, and that one takes the longest. No moving, no stretch breaks, nothing in that one. My back pretty much seized up about halfway through the session, waking me from the doze I’d finally managed to fall into.
That, you know. Sucked!
Then I had to go to work, because I can never, ever get a day off for anything, even significant medical procedures. And I had to bring a pie, because we’d decided to have a pre-Thanksgiving do. I had stayed up much too late making a Marshmallow Mermaid pie (recipe from The Waitress starring Keri Russell – you can Google for it, it’s super simple and always in demand) for the thing, because I am always expected to do so now, but no one really ate any!
So I have nearly a full pie left – I made two, one with a chocolate cookie crust and one with graham cracker. Sigh.
My gimpy finger is acting up. I have to cut this short. Not what I intended, boo.
