and all that jazz

I’d like you all to know that when it is 35 degrees out, taffeta and velvet do nothing to keep you warm.
Also, turns out even ten minutes of low- energy hooping will aggravate hell out of a shin splint, if you have the kind that is described in this manner: “An musculotibial injury where the pain is caused by the connective muscle tissue tearing away from the bones of the lower leg.”
Yeah. Did you guys all wince too?
But! I loved doing this photoshoot. I used my Canon to take it, then loaded it onto my phone and used Photoshop Mobile on it. I was very, very pleased with the result, the sort of noir feel – and then you realize there’s a hula hoop orbiting my knees. Delicious.

Neat pic. The hoop about your legs was actually the first thing my mind focused on, but at first was unsure what it was.
By the by, saw Boondock Saints II this weekend. Totally agree about the dream sequence, though I think it was an excuse to bring Rocco back. At first thought Julie Benz was annoying and then totally liked her (probably around the time of “since we’ve broken the ‘fuck’ barrier … “). Followed the spirit of the first, was great especially as far as sequels go. And I’m also not the supposed target audience but enjoyed it all the same.
